Port Orange Personal Trainer Tackles Your Fitness Excuses

So, you’ve seen enough episodes of Oprah and Dr. Oz to know that exercise is good for you.  And you’ve read enough articles in Prevention Magazine or even Reader’s Digest to know that weight lifting is in vogue for the 40+ crowd.  Yet…for some reason you just can’t seem to get started on a regular routine.

Whenever you start to consider joining a gym or finding a Port Orange, Fl personal trainer, you end up face-to-face with a wall of excuses.

Fitness Excuses

I just don’t have the time to exercise.  Port Orange fitness training soon
This is most likely your top excuse.  You ARE busy.  You have a demanding life of career, kids (or grandkids), cooking, cleaning, volunteering, housework, yard work,  aging parents or friends to care for…and there is no “extra” time for fitness.

That sounds true, but consider this.  If you’re over 40 and not working out at the gym or with an in-home personal trainer, then you are sure to experience the decline in health and fitness that comes with your inactive lifestyle.  Once you begin to experience the symptoms of illness and disease, you’ll have to make a doctor’s appointment, wait (like always) to be seen, have additional tests done, drive to the pharmacy…and basically invest a lot of your time in managing this illness.

The bottom line is that if you don't make the time to train, then you will have to make time for your illness.  And fitness training is a lot less time-consuming and anguish-producing than disease.

I don't like to exercise.
Port Orange Fl personal training Here's another top excuse...but it won't get you off the hook.  There are lots of people in who don't like to exercise, but they find a way to do it anyway.  (I think most of my one-on-one personal training clients have a love/hate relationship with me:  they hate to see me show up, but love it when I leave!)  Do you like to work out?  If not, do you like to feeling lethargic and tired?  Do you like being overweight?  Do you like to visit your doctor for more and more tests?

Without a good fitness routine, you will feel lethargic, be overweight, and get sick.  It really just comes down to which dislike your going to choose.

I just don't have the energy to exercise.
Port Orange group personal trainingNow this is the one that I can relate to the most.  For the last four years I've been running after my two little ones, so I can understand having no energy.

But if you have no energy because you're unfit, then the last thing you want to do is find a personal trainer and start exercising.  But until you become more active, you're not going to feel any better.  Once you start moving, then you'll boost your metabolism and find that energy that you're looking for.

It's just not a good time to start a fitness routine or hire a personal trainer.
Does this sound like you?
"I'll start a new exercise routine when...
...summer vacation is over.
...the kids/grandkids are back in school.
...the holidays are over.
...work is not as hectic.
...the weather is a little warmer.
...the weather is a little cooler.

If you're waiting for the perfect time to start a training program, it's never going to happen.  It's time for you to ditch the excuses and find a routine or a personal trainer who is a good fit for you.
